POWER SUPPLY

POWER SUPPLY IN THE ROCK’N’ROLL CAMPING AREA

In the Rock’n’Roll camping areas, attendees are provided with power outlets for communal use. These power outlets, or sub-distribution to other attendees, are a maximum of 50m away. Supply is decentralised, with multiple smaller generators and distribution boards, increasing security of supply. The outlets are provided as single, fused 220V Schuko (type F) plug sockets. For sub-distribution, attendees should bring appropriate 50m extension cables suitable for outdoor use (!) or cable reels suitable for outdoor use (!). There is one generator allocated to every 750-1000 attendees on a camping plot, with multiple distribution boards then providing 25 slots each. Connection to the power supply is via normal Schuko (type F) plug sockets. Power draw is limited to 2,000 watts per outlet. Each outlet is shared by 9-10 attendees, meaning mathematically that about 200W of power is available per attendee.

SUPPLY PERIOD AND SERVICE

The outlets will be provided and operated from the time the relevant camping area is opened until 9am on Monday, 10 June 2019. In this period, there will also be electricians available on site to help you with problems using the outlet. On the distribution boards, you will find a service telephone number and details of your location. If you have problems, you can contact the electrical team directly.

WHAT AM I ALLOWED TO CONNECT TO THE POWER OUTLETS AND WHAT AM I NOT?

In principle, normal household devices such as refridgerators, drink pumps, small-sized regular-household sound systems, lamps etc. can all be operated. The use of high-consumption devices, such as filter-coffee machines or hairdryers, should be co-ordinated with the other users of the outlet to avoid power cuts. Devices with extremely high consumption e.g. hotplates, electric heaters, fan heaters and air conditioners, as well as amplifiers and professional audio and lighting equipment with high power ratings, may not be operated.

POWER SUPPLY IN THE CARAVAN AREAS

In the caravan areas, power outlets are provided for the holders of caravan badges to connect vehicles and for communal use. The outlets are provided as single, fused 220V Schuko (type F) plug sockets for direct connection and for sub-distribution amongst attendees. Anyone who needs an adapter for a 16A CEE blue socket to connect their caravan or motor home must bring this adapter themselves! For additional sub-distribution, attendees should bring appropriate 50m extension cables suitable for outdoor use (!) or cable reels suitable for outdoor use (!). There is one power outlet designated for every 3 caravan badges sold. These outlets will be provided at the distribution boards spread across the caravan area. Power draw is limited to 2,000 watts per outlet, with three caravans sharing one outlet.

POWER SUPPLY ON CAMPSITE B2 FOR ATTENDEES WITH DISABILITIES

In the camping area for attendees with disabilities, power outlets are designated solely for attendees who have registered to take a vehicle onto camping area B2.

EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY

The organiser’s liability for power supply only covers the safe operation of the generators and the distribution boards connected to them. We explicitly advise that the organiser will assume no liability in the event of voltage fluctuations and power cuts for resulting damage of any kind. The organiser’s liability ends at the plug socket with a FI circuit breaker on the distribution board.
From this point onwards, attendees are themselves liable for first or third-party damage caused by the laying of distribution cables, the improper use of the power supply and/or the connection or operation of unsuitable cables and/or devices.
